Monumental Pucci Project in Florence
By SENATUS News | 20 June 2014

Emilio Pucci Creative Director Peter Dundas and CEO Laudomia Pucci feted the label's installation at the Baptistery of Piazza San Giovanni in Florence on 17 June, and will continue through 22 June. The Italian house covered the Baptistery in more than 20,000 square meters of canvas printed with Pucci's 1957 Battistero motif, which was in turn inspired by the religious landmark.

"It's the first time in Florence's history that anyone has done anything like this," commented Pucci on the occasion.

"So many important fashion houses have their roots in Florence," added Dundas at the launch party, which also featured an exhibition of archived Pucci wares. "It was the capital of Europe, and it has this intense saturation of history. For me and for Emilio Pucci himself, Florence was a source of inspiration."
