Elie Saab Spring 2015 is an Invitation to 'Dive Into the Deep'
By SENATUS News | 12 October 2014

The fauna and flora of the Italian sea was the main inspiration for Elie Saab’s Spring/Summer 2015 collection, showcased during Paris Fashion Week. The evening dresses borrowed from the colors of coral reefs with plenty of coral, orange and yellow, in addition to all the shades of sea water. Dresses in revealing white lace, a Saab trademark, complemented the collection.

The collection was titled “Dive Into the Deep,” with 'Amalfi Sea Blue' and 'Lagoon Green' taking centerstage.

Chiffon and chic lace also added to the oceanic feel. Resembling sirens, the models made their way on the catwalk carrying greenish blue clutches reminiscent of tropical fish scales. With draped maxi dresses Saab started this marine life inspired parade. Then came a few sets of pants and blouses or blouses with lace inserts. Lace played once again a key role, revealing curves in the subtlest of ways.

The Lebanese designer has also worked sequins for sexy evening dresses. As for shoes, there was something for everyone with flat sandals or heels. Regarding makeup, blue was the dominant color as at Emmanuel Ungaro or Honor, which seems to indicate a trend for next summer. There were also slinky jumpsuits, slim-fitting trousers and even a lace-trimmed bomber jacket and playsuit just to change things up a bit.
