Almaha Marrakech by Charles Kaisin Opens

11 February 2016

By Natalie White

The new design hotel conceived by Belgian architect and designer Charles Kaisin opens in February 2016, drawing inspiration from the famous Charles Baudelaire poem 'L'invitation au voyage'.

Charles Kaisin is known for a variety of creative projects including interior design projects, installations and product design. Charles was recently involved with the Hermes launch in Boston, USA, helping to deliver a creative and memorable reveal.

Almaha Marrakech is his first hotel project.

"This is no doubt in my mind, creativity and inspiration flourish across Marrakech, add to that a temperate climate and great proximity to many European destinations and the city will continue to flourish in 2016 from a design perspective."

Both innovative and disciplined in approach, Charles Kaisin has combined traditional Moroccan design, including centuries old traditional craftsmanship, with more contemporary design elements.

This new riad hotel, with 12 individually styled bedrooms, is a tranquil hideaway, located in Marrakech's oldest neighbourhood, the Kasbah, where the former royal stables once stood.

A range of luxurious facilities is available, from the underground hammam and spa designed to relax and stimulate the senses, to the roof top terrace, where guests can dine and enjoy the swimming pool, which is open throughout the day.

The Pixel Room is perfect for mint tea, pastries and evening drinks and The Library for breakfast, lunch and dinner; both offer marked design contrasts.
