Last night The Duke and Duchess are attending a black tie dinner at the Residence of the British Ambassador, David Cairns, attended by members of the Swedish Royal Family, and representatives from government, and popular culture, including Prime Minister Stefan Löfven, and actors Stellan Skarsgård and Alicia Vikander. You can see The Duke & Duchess posing for a photo with Crown Princess Victoria and her husband Prince Daniel. The Duchess is in a new dress by Erdem. She picked out the silk-crepe de Chine 'Stephanie' gown, from the AW17 collection. The golden hue of the dress is a subtle nod to the Swedish national colours: blue and gold. Kate is also wearing Diana's pearl earrings and pearl bracelet. After having a lovely welcome to the Swedish capital of Stockholm yesterday, The Duke & Duchess and Crown Princess Victoria & Prince Daniel are spending today carrying out engagements centred around mental health. After visiting the famous Karolinska Institute, where they learnt about Sweden's approach to managing mental health challenges, the four royals visited Matteusskolan, a school in Stockholm benefiting from the Youth Aware of Mental Health (YAM) programme. YAM promotes increased knowledge about mental health through dialogue and role-play. The royals spoke to students and mentors involved in the programme. The Duke gave a speech to students, teachers and invited guests about the importance of young people having conversations about mental health challenges. ——————— The four royals are currently paying a visit to one of Sweden's leading department stores – NK. Nordiska Kompaniet (colloquially known as NK) is a luxury department store opened in 1915 with the purpose of becoming a commercial and cultural theatre — a contemporary stage. The couple are officially opening an interactive exhibition featuring the best of UK design, fashion and brands that operate in Sweden. ———————— William and Kate will then travel to Haga Palace, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel's official residence, for a private tea with the royal couple. This evening, the couple will attend an event at the Fotografiska Gallery celebrating contemporary culture with guests representing the worlds of music, film, television, theatre, tech, dance, art and sport, with live music, drinks and canapés. The Duke will also deliver a speech at this event. For today's events in Stockholm, Sweden, The Duchess chose a bold houndstooth coat, which was a lovely little tribute to Diana. The red and white patterned coat is Kate's third Catherine Walker piece on this tour. The double-breasted coat features a princess line, a pointed flat collar, and six red buttons, sitting just above the knee. The British label was a favourite of Diana's. The pattern bares sticking similarities to a jacket Diana wore in 1990 with a matching skirt of a different colour . Kate has paid homage to Diana several times through wearing clearly similar pieces on certain occasions. Underneath the coat, Kate wore a bespoke piece from Alexander McQueen. The dress features a wool-blend bouclé-tweed fabric which is flecked with gold yarns, similar to other pieces in their collection. The collection this dress is inspired by is described: "Alexander McQueen's Pre-Fall '17 collection is inspired by the medieval heroines of Arthurian legend - Isolde, Guinevere and the Lady of the Lake." Kate brought back out her chic Chanel Bag with Enamel Handle, first worn in Paris last year. She also wore her matching Tod's Fringed Leather Pumps (£267 but now sold out) with a sturdy block heel, almond toe and elegant gold buckle. Kate paid homage to the host nation today through her new earrings. These are the 'Baroque Pearl Earring Drops' by Swedish brand In2Design, available at Banana Republic for £107/$152 . These earrings were inspired by the simplicity and modern elegance of Swedish design, and have also been worn by Princess Sofia of Sweden. Each piece is one-of-a-kind due to the nature of freshwater pearls. Kate wore her Cornelia James 'Imogen' gloves in Chocolate today also. Available for £70/$100, they are described, "A wrist length glove made in pure merino wool. This glove is finished with a side bow. If you are after warmth but not bulk, Imogen is the glove for you." I think this McQueen dress is one of my new favourite dresses of hers! So flattering!
