Fendi will make its Haute Couture Week debut on Wednesday with creative director Karl Lagerfeld set to present a high fur or "haute fourrure" collection as he marks 50 years at the luxury label, drawing criticism from animal rights activists. The German designer is managing this undertaking alongside his usual duties for CHANEL during this semi-annual showcase.
Lagerfeld celebrates his 50th year at Fendi, in charge of fur and women’s ready-to-wear, since 1965. He has also been the creative director for CHANEL since 1983, a 32-year reign at the top of the fashion world. A sight rarely seen in the merry-go-round of fashion management today.
