By SENATUS Watches & Jewelry | 18 November 2015

This year, the Artistic Crafts category prize at the annual Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève was awarded to the new Villeret Shakudo Ganesh from Blancpain, in recognition of aesthetic characteristics and the savoir-faire of the manufacture, and in particular the timepiece which utilizes shakudō, an alloy of Japanese origin principally composed of copper and gold, which acquires a dark patina between blue and black, according to variations in its composition and texture.
