William and Kate were spotted arriving at the Kensington home of Pippa's fiancée, James Matthews, for a dinner to no doubt catch up on wedding plans last Thursday.
Pippa's future in-laws, David Matthews and Jane Parker, also attended, as did James' brother, reality television personality Spencer Matthews, and James Middleton.
Carole and Michael did not attend but they are said to be very fond of their future son-in-law. Their spokesperson said they were "absolutely thrilled" about the engagement.
To the dinner, Kate wore a ponytail with a dress we haven't seen before. This one is Somerset by Alice Temperley's 'Peony Off The Shoulder Dress' available exclusively at John Lewis for £99/$124US (only size six remains). Kate had hers pulled up over her shoulders. I love off-duty Kate!
James & Pippa's wedding is to take place on the 20th of May. The ceremony will be held at St Mark’s Church—where the Cambridges attended the 2016 Christmas service—followed by a reception at the 18-acre Middleton home in Bucklebury.
James, 41, is a hedge fund manager and has known Pippa, 33, for more than ten years, although their relationship didn't begin until 2015. The couple both share a love for the outdoors—namely cycling, skiing, swimming and running.
It is believed that Pippa's wedding dress is being designed by Giles Deacon, as he was spotted visiting Pippa at home with a large dress carrier shortly before Christmas. In one of her articles, Pippa wrote, "If I had to get married, it would be in my tennis whites—shorts with no pleats or frills." So I guess we can expect something much more simplistic than her sister's!
George and Charlotte will likely be page boy and flower girl respectively. As for Kate, there is so much speculation that she won't be matron of honour for fear she might overshadow her sister. But at the end of the day, she's Pippa's one and only sister and the two seem to share such a great bond. Furthermore, the wedding is a private, family affair; many of those attending know Kate as just Kate, not as the future Queen, so in my opinion there is no way Pippa would leave out her sister on such an important day.
