By SENATUS Magazine | 12 June 2017

Rafael Nadal won the French Open for the 10th time this Sunday, defeating Stan Wawrinka over three sets to become the oldest champion at Roland Garros in the Open Era. The Spanish tennis legend was 19 when he won for the first time and turned 31 eight days ago, and overcame his 32-year old Swiss rival in 2hr 5min to win 6-2, 6-3, 6-1.

In seven matches leading up to the 2017 title, Nadal had dropped only 35 games, revealing his dominance on the red clay of Roland Garros, following a lengthy bout out due to injury last year.
