Versace Pays Tribute to Late Gianni at Milan Fashion Week
By SENATUS Magazine | 23 September 2017

Donatella Versace honoured her late brother Gianni on the 20th anniversary of his death, at Milan Fashion Week with a blockbuster Versace showcase. This included a surprise supermodel reunion of Cindy Crawford, Carla Bruni, Naomi Campbell, Helena Christensen and Claudia Schiffer - all of whom had worked closely with Gianni Versace - dressed in gold lame as the George Michael anthem Freedom '90 pounded from the sound system.

"Gianni this is for you," a voice declared throughout the show, which featured an absolute greatest hits of the murdered designer's canon.

"We pay homage to not only (Gianni's) artistic genius but to who he was as a man, and above all, as my brother," Donatella wrote in her notes to Versace's Spring/Summer 2018 collection.
