Sunday Service at St Mary Magdalene Church on the Sandringham Estate.
By Alexandrina Kentska | 8 January 2018

Yesterday, The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Philip and The Queen were photographed attending the Sunday Service at St Mary Magdalene Church on the Sandringham Estate.

Also in attendance today was Kate's sister Pippa Matthews and her husband James Matthews.

The Cambridges enjoyed Christmas with The Queen at Sandringham before ringing in the New Year with the Middletons in Bucklebury.

Sandringham has been the private home of British monarchs since 1862. St Mary Magdalene Church houses memorials to many members and relations of the Royal Family in the church and churchyard. It has also been the church of choice for many royal christenings. The first christening was of King George VI in 1896. Other christenings taken place there include those of Princess Diana, Princess Eugenie and Princess Charlotte.

The Duchess wore familiar pieces to a Sunday morning church service at St Mary Magdalene Church with The Queen this morning.

Kate wore the brown 'Turpin Tweed' style coat by British label Moloh today. The double-breasted coat features a standing collar, epaulets on the cuffs and shoulders, flap pockets and metallic buttons. The original coat from Moloh's 2013 collection was ankle length, so Kate has had hers taken up slightly.

Moloh's pieces were described in the 2013 Belgravia Residents' Journal that featured this coat as, "...rustic tweeds in fashion-forward cuts, cost knits in primary colours and floor-skimming Dickensian-style overcoats."

Kate's £685 coat was described: "Channel some serious eighteenth-century style in the well-named Turpin Coat; this comes in a brown and cream check with flecks of orange and glamorously grazes the ankle."

This classic British coat was also worn to the Christmas Day church service in 2014, along with her Lock & Co hat.

Many of you will be happy to see the return of Kate's $4,200 Chanel Nouvelle Flap Bag in calfskin with Enamel Handle, worn in Paris last year.

She also wore her Tod's Fringed Leather Pumps (were $193.50 but now sold out). Kate has worn these burgundy leather pumps multiple times now; they were debuted in Canada in 2016.

Kate wore another 'Sumac' hat by Lacorine in chocolate brown, which retails for £187.50/$250. The label offers luxury handmade Alpaca fur hats and clothes from Peru. As with all of their products, the alpaca hat derives from natural herd loss in the bitter Peruvian winters and is handmade using Fair Trade principles.

As Royal expert I can revealed that the Middleton sisters discovered the brand when shopping at William Evans & Co, which has a shop in St James'. Kate bought the Sumac hat in a number of colours, while Pippa wore a brown one to the Cheltenham races in 2013. We have seen Kate wear the silver version to a Sunday church service in January of last year. She wore a similar black version to the 2017 Christmas service.

Kate also wore Cornelia James 'Clementine' gloves with faux fur cuffs and her sapphire and diamond earrings from Diana's collection.
