Today, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are in Coventry, recently named the UK City of Culture, where they are visiting Coventry Cathedral, Coventry University and The Positive Youth Foundation.
The couple arrived to cheers from hundreds of flag-waving schoolchildren from the local Sacred Heart School. Among them was Darcy Hayes, 9, who gave Kate some bright orange flowers.
“She said her son George will love the flowers because he loves orange — and police colors. I told them I had an American girl doll for Christmas and William said Charlotte loves dolls,” said Hayes. “They were nice and cheerful.” (Via Simon Perry for People Mag)
The Duke & Duchess will shortly be given a tour of St Michael's Cathedral, known as Coventry Cathedral. It was built beside the ruins of the original medieval Cathedral of St Michael which was destroyed in a WWII bombing.
The Duchess was back in a familiar coat for today's engagements in Coventry.
The Mulberry Double Breasted Coat in 'Cerise' was first worn in New York in December of 2014. Kate has actually now repeated every coat worn on the New York tour (four coats) during this pregnancy. The coat was then worn to an engagement back in England a few months later in late March, nearly a month before Princess Charlotte was due. .
The bright pink $2,600 coat is a wool/silk blend and features a small rounded collar, front pockets and black buttons.
It was described: "A double-breasted coat is a timeless winter style with a reassuringly classic silhouette. Updated in vibrant cerise, this version has beautiful finishing details including elegant horn buttons and contrasting midnight blue lining."
Tod's Black Suede Block Heel Pumps made a reappearance today also — a practical choice for a day of engagements and often being on her feet. These pumps have been worn multiple times during this pregnancy and are sold out.
Kate carried her black suede Mulberry Bayswater clutch and wore her Cornelia James 'Beatrice' Merino Wool Gloves, available for £70/$92. The company is a royal warrant holder; it has been glove manufacturer to the Queen since 1979.
For jewellery she wore her Kiki McDonough Morganite and Diamond Cushion Drop Earrings (available for £2,833.33) to complete the look.
So happy to see this stunning coat again!!
