Louis Vuitton opens pop-up store in Tokyo for its collaborative collection with Yayoi Kusama
By SENATUS Editor | 5 January 2023

Louis Vuitton has opened a pop-up store in Harajuku, Tokyo, where it is showcasing (and selling) its second collaborative collection with renowned Japanese contemporary artist Yayoi Kusam.

Taking place till 22 January 2023, the outpost features larger-than-life installations and decorations.

Inside the space, the French fashion house has crafted a massive, lifelike sculpture of Kusama, who wears a yellow and black polka-dot shirt and dons her signature red hair. The walls boast an all-over, inverted pattern to the artist’s top, offering a pleasant contrast to the glorious centerpiece. In one corner, a collection of mirrored balls convene to form Louis Vuitton’s signature LV iconography; and in another, mannequins spotlight polka-dotted designs in the foreground of a neon sign that reads, “Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama.”

The collaboration merges the French Maison’s signature shapes with Kusama’s iconographic designs and million-dollar brush strokes. The range, which follows the duo’s debut partnership in 2012, includes ready-to-wear, accessories, leather goods and fragrances.
