The new Reine de Naples from Breguet features a grey "Grand feu" enamel dial. Diamonds illuminate its bezel, dial flange and buckle set. The House has also replaced the number 6 with a pear-cut diamond.
A mixture of silica and oxides enabling a vast palette of colours composes the enamel. Each colour of enamel melts at a different temperature.
The enamel is applied on the dial and then placed in an oven at very high temperature. In contact with heat, the enamel melts and creates the first layer. The process is repeated as many times as necessary to obtain the desired colour. Nowadays, only a handful of Swiss artisans master this craft.
