The Panerai Submersible Elux LAB-ID PAM01800 represents a significant innovation in mechanical luminescence, drawing inspiration from Panerai’s historical expertise in luminescence technology, particularly the electroluminescent Elux panels patented in 1966.
This new timepiece showcases a fully mechanical movement capable of generating light on demand, achieved through an innovative arrangement of energy-storing barrels and a microgenerator that converts mechanical energy into electricity.
The watch boasts a 49mm case diameter, 50 bar water resistance, and a 30-minute power light feature, all encapsulated in a ceramic titanium case, offering enhanced hardness and a distinctive blue color inspired by the open seas.
Key features include a linear Power Light reserve indicator, a small seconds indicator at 9 o’clock, a patented pusher-protector system, and a patent-pending bezel light system. The dial and bezel markers are illuminated with SuperLuminova® X2 and X1, respectively, providing exceptional legibility in darkness. The watch also includes the iconic crown-protection bridge and is paired with a blue rubber strap and a second bi-material strap.
Limited to 150 pieces, with 50 pieces available each year over three years, the Elux LAB-ID PAM01800 is a testament to Panerai’s relentless pursuit of innovative technical solutions.
