Van Cleef & Arpels Lady Arpels Brise D’Eté - reflecting the freshness of a summer morning
By SENATUS Editor | 22 July 2024

The Van Cleef & Arpels Lady Arpels Brise d’Été watch is a tribute to nature, reflecting the freshness of a summer morning.

It features white- and yellow-gold butterflies in plique-à-jour enamel that animate on demand, bringing life to flowers and their stems. The flowers, crafted in vallonné enamel with azure hues and spessartite garnet pistils, contrast against a mother-of-pearl dial. This scene merges foreground and background with champlevé enamel leaves and tsavorite garnet blades of grass, enhanced by sculptural miniature painting.

The watch celebrates the Poetry of Time, using age-old miniature painting techniques requiring precision and artistic skill. The enamel artist applies colors meticulously, each hue requiring specific firing procedures known only to master enamelers.
