The Black Bay 58 draws its name from the year 1958, when TUDOR introduced its first divers’ watch, the reference 7924, known as the “Big Crown.”
This year, a new edition, in all-burgundy, pays tribute to that iconic timepiece with a 39mm case, perfectly capturing the proportions of the 1950s. Yet, this model isn’t just a nod to the past—it also incorporates design elements from a prototype TUDOR Submariner ref. 79190 developed in the ‘90s, featuring a striking burgundy dial and matching bezel. Although this prototype never went into production, its design has now found a home in the Black Bay 58.
Along with its refreshed design, the new Black Bay 58 comes with the prestigious Master Chronometer certification—one of the highest standards in the industry for chronometric accuracy and resistance to magnetic fields. Each watch is rigorously tested by the Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) in Switzerland to ensure top-tier performance.
To complete the package, the new TUDOR Black Bay 58 offers multiple strap options: a sleek 5-link bracelet, a classic 3-link bracelet, or a rubber strap. All three come equipped with TUDOR's innovative T-fit rapid adjustment system, making this iconic timepiece more versatile and comfortable than ever.
