Omega marks a bold new chapter in diving history with the reimagined Seamaster Planet Ocean
By SENATUS Magazine | 2 December 2025

It has been two decades since Omega first introduced the world to the Planet Ocean and redefined the expectations of a professional dive watch. Now the Swiss watchmaker is marking this milestone 20th anniversary with a bold new chapter that unites historic DNA with a refined and modernised silhouette. This latest release introduces seven distinct models that prove the diving legacy of the brand is as vital and stylish as ever.

The aesthetic focus is sharp and sophisticated. Each timepiece features a matte black dial punctuated by classic arrowhead hands and luminous hour markers alongside Arabic numerals. This visual identity is framed by three vivid ceramic bezels available in deep blue or classic black alongside the signature orange of the house. The orange bezel in particular has been meticulously perfected to achieve a striking radiance that demands attention on the wrist.

The architecture of the watch has been thoughtfully updated for the modern wearer. The 42 mm case has been slimmed down for a more streamlined profile but loses none of its durability. It now incorporates an inner titanium ring that delivers exceptional strength for dives into extreme depths. Beneath the surface beats the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8912 which powers the watch with a 60-hour power reserve. The mechanism boasts impressive magnetic resistance and is water resistant to 600 metres while meeting the highest standards of precision certified by METAS.

Wearability is paramount in this redesign. The collection is available on rubber straps or a stainless-steel bracelet that has been reworked to integrate seamlessly into the case. The new bracelet features a series of flat links with two brushed outer rows flanking a polished centre row. It is slimmer and more ergonomic than its predecessors and offers six levels of adjustment equipped with an extra diver extension to ensure comfort and adaptability in every environment.
