Kien Lee started his career as a Mergers & Acquisitions investment banking analyst at Merrill Lynch New York after graduating from Yale University in 2001. His Wall Street career would continue in the role of Strategy Advisor to the Deutsche Bank Americas CEO, Seth Waugh, in 2006.
On his return to Singapore, Kien founded SENATUS in 2008, growing the company portfolio to more than 4 million Facebook fans across all digital properties. SENATUS has garnered numerous industry awards, affirming it as the best lifestyle online magazine in Asia-Pacific, and counting amongst its clients the best-in-class brands in the luxury and lifestyle sectors.
Kien has taken the role as Creative Director for client projects, producing co-branded content for Audemars Piguet, Breitling, Dior, Gucci, Huawei, Rolls-Royce, Tiffany & Co, Tom Ford, and more. Originating content optimized for both digital and social media, these campaigns have reached more than a million FB users each, as a minimum.
Kien helmed Women's Fashion Week 2011 as Festival Director with SENATUS as the co-organizer. Amongst event organization and execution duties, he also took on a leadership role interfacing with the international press and lifestyle media over a lead-up of 3 months for the 10-day event, liaising with a total of over 300 journalists, media reporters, bloggers and influencers.
