New York-native Michael Bastian marks his first night-time runway show, the result was evident in a darker and moodier collection. From the first look, it was evident that knits would be an important part of the collection and that was seen throughout, from printed sweaters to textured knitwear. Bastian's strong suit: sharp and modern, but forgiving, tailoring was also front and center, from a military inspired overcoat to a pique lapel jacket. Also interesting to see was his use of fur, a trend we saw proliferate much of the European shows last month. Big furry gloves were seen and paralleled those we saw at Alexander Wang and Altuzarra's womenswear collections earlier this week. In all, his sporty Fall Winter 2013 collection was a perfect addition to any dandy's wardrobe.
