5th Annual Scottish Fashion Awards 2010

If Giorgio Armani can take over the Guggenheim in New York or if YSL can take over the Centre Pompidou in Paris then the Scottish Fashion Awards can take over the entire Glasgow Science Centre complex for it's 5th anniversary event where a host of fashion icons and designers are set to descend upon in June. Indeed the gleaming titanium crescent overlooking the River Clyde shall host Scotland's fashion extravaganza on Sunday 20th June 2010. With fashion venue's fast becoming as much of a spectacle as the event itself, 'Scotland's First Lady of Fashion' and founder of the event Tessa Hartmann has spared no expense for the celebrations this year.

Catwalk stars, major fashion industry figures and celebrities from the official nominee list, which is announced today, will attend the glittering VIP event to collect Scotland's most sought fashion crown!

This year's shortlist includes many of the UK's leading fashion lights including catwalk darling Christopher Kane, Jonathan Saunders, Pringle of Scotland, Holly Fulton, Louise Gray and Pam Hogg. Fashion Icon nominees include Tilta Swinton, Sharleen Spiteri, Gerard Butler and Paolo Nutini. Marc Jacobs stylist Joe McKenna is nominated in 'Communicator' category as is US brand Rodarte for their use of Scottish fabric by an international designer.

Sponsored by Vogue.com the nominees will be judged later this month by an exclusive panel including Brian Duffy (President of Ralph Lauren Europe), Nathalie Colin (Creative Director Swarovski, Paris), Designer Amanda Wakeley, Dolly Jones (Editor of Vogue.com), Brigitte Stepputis (Head of Couture Vivienne Westwood), Professor Wendy Dagworthy (Royal College of Art, London), Lucy Yeomans (Editor of Harpers Bazaar), Paula Reed (Grazia) and Hilary Alexander (Daily Telegraph).

With the Scottish Fashion Awards now officially included on the Swarovski Red Carpet Calendar, the brand will return again this year as 'Official Jeweller' to add a dash of sparkle to the awards with Creative Director Nathalie Colin back in her role as an Official Judge.

The awards, presented by LA based fashion personality Louise Roe, will honour the very best of Scottish fashion from designers, photographers, models, stylists, make-up artists, fashion writers and present a phenomenal opportunity for home grown talent to showcase their work.
