Bugatti, the French luxury marque has announced the creation of "Les Legendes de Bugatti", six special editions of its 16.4 Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse model in celebration of the legends who have played a crucial role in its history.
On the occasion of the 90th anniversary year of the 24 Heures du Mans, Bugatti dedicates its first exclusive edition to Jean-Pierre Wimille, who garnered two victories for Bugatti at Le Mans.
In 1937, driver Jean-Pierre Wimille piloted a Bugatti 57G Tank with Robert Benoist, and in 1939 with Pierre Veyron in a 57C Tank, to victories in Le Mans. The race car that won in the first victory was in blue, and provides the inspiration for the "Jean-Pierre Wimille" Bugatti Legend.
This Vitesse now shines in blue clear-coated carbon fibre and a light Wimille Bleu paintwork finish.
