CHANEL Fall/Winter 2016/17 eyewear collection is presenting 3 new lines of frames that are chic and urban, vintage or futuristic.
URBAN CHIC
Like an autumnal sky, this season the gaze is hidden behind a palette of amber-yellow, deep blue, silvery green and shimmering brown. Transposed onto acetate that captures the scrolls of black ink, these new colours encircle lenses endowed with a brilliant metallic mirror effect.
For both optical and sunglasses, the frames adopt butterfly or square shapes as well as a new pantos. A double C in matt black or blue metal signs each temple like a baroque signature.
VINTAGE
The oversize sunglasses presented at the Fall-Winter 2016/17 Ready-to-Wear runway show have a retro allure. Here it's all about the lens: with no surrounding frame, it is encircled uniquely with hand-polished facets.
The designs come in butterfly, octagonal or cat eye forms and exist in subtle shades of champagne or pale grey. Positioned at the very end of the facetted temple, a discreet double C is tucked behind the ear.
FUTURISTIC
The solar mask of summer 2016 also makes an appearance in the winter collection. While it still has the ultra-graphic and flat aspect, mirrored lenses and laser drawn quilting, it adopts two new shapes, a pilot and a rectangular mask.
Its futuristic look is reinforced with three colours: silvery grey, orangey red and violet blue.
The CHANEL Fall-Winter 2016/17 eyewear collection will be available in boutiques from June 2016 while the facetted glass designs will arrive in boutiques with the Fall-Winter 2016/17 Ready-to-Wear collection at the beginning of September.
