Ffter dazzling audiences from Paris to New York, Tokyo to Riyadh, the Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams exhibition makes its long-awaited debut in Seoul, arriving at the iconic Dongdaemun Design Plaza from April 19 to July 13, 2025. A global phenomenon steeped in glamour and artistry, the exhibition now unfolds its next chapter in the heart of South Korea’s fashion capital.
Curated by fashion historian Florence Müller and brought to life through the visionary scenography of Shohei Shigematsu (of the boundary-pushing architecture firm OMA), the experience is nothing short of cinematic. Over seventy-five years of Dior’s legacy are reimagined through immersive storytelling – an elegant pas de deux between archival treasures and haute couture marvels, set against a dreamscape that blurs the line between fashion and fantasy.
From Monsieur Dior’s revolutionary New Look to the House’s bold modern-day expressions under successive creative directors, the exhibition is a lyrical tribute to Dior’s eternal codes: an obsession with florals and gardens, the meticulous poetry of the ateliers, and the unapologetic opulence of balls and soirées.
But what makes Seoul’s edition truly unique is its deeply resonant dialogue with Korean art. The House’s iconic Lady Dior bag becomes a canvas for reinvention, with exclusive reinterpretations by Korean artists such as HyunJoo Kim, Soo Sunny Park, and Zadie Xa. For the first time ever, a dedicated Lady Dior space features nine bespoke creations for the Dior Lady Art project and seventeen visionary works for Lady Dior As Seen By – a celebration of craft, culture, and collaboration.
Wander through room after room where perfume becomes poetry: the ethereal world of Dior fragrances is brought to life through archival bottles, intimate portraits, and dresses worn by legendary muses like Rihanna (for J’adore) and Natalie Portman (for Miss Dior). Every detail is a love letter to the art of scent, the magic of memory, and the House’s enduring allure.
Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams in Seoul is not merely an exhibition – it is an invitation to step inside the mythos of Dior, to revel in its elegance, and to dream without limits.
