Corum Bubble Gaming Limited Editions Celebrate the Games of Chance

31 May 2016

By Kien Lee

Corum first introduced the Bubble timepiece back in the year 2000.

The Bubble proved itself quickly as a runaway bestseller with its distinctive "towering sapphire crystal" which was inspired by deep-sea dive watches from the 1960s fitted with extra-thick domed crystals to withstand the high pressure while deep down in the ocean.

In 2015, the Swiss watch manufacture from La Chaux-de-Fonds gave the iconic timepieces a new lease of life and for the second year, has unveiled several new collections including the High Jewellery Skeleton Bubbliamonds, the Dani Olivier photographic art special editions, the Bubble Tourbillon, as well as a "full house" with the Bubble Gaming limited editions.

This Casino-themed series of five timepieces each in 47 mm stainless steel case topped by its signature massive, domed sapphire crystal, feature the Roulette Wheel, and Joker revived from the original Bubble series, newly-joined by the 8 Ball, Casino Chip and Dice.

Both the Bubble 8 Ball and Roulette are distinguished by their specially constructed, three-dimensional dials.

The Bubble 8 Ball features a relief eight-ball, protruding from the surface of the dial, and along with the curve of the sapphire crystal, forms  a double-spherical optical effect.

The Bubble Roulette comes complete with intricate detail like the tiny frets and a ball resting at the tip of the seconds hand.

The Bubble Dice has two unique dice on the dial, each showing sixes on every face, re-emphasized with the oversized "6" numeral displayed twice as well. With these two dice, a gambler would never lose, so bet big!

Finally, the Bubble Joker and Bubble Casino both come in a black PVD coated steel case, but retains the steel bezel. The former representing the winnings from a high-stakes game, whilst the latter, the wild card that will turn your luck around. An oversized "8" numeral on the display is an additional furtunous element.

Each timepiece is limited to just 88 pieces, with the final, the "lucky" 88th wristwatch a pièce unique with a red gold bezel.
