The re-opening of the FENDI store at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore sees the attendance of two very special guests, the "Fendirumi" namely Piro-chan and Bug-kun.
Standing tall at two metres and covered with FENDI's "fun fur", the Fendirumi were created by FENDI in 2015 to pay homage to the Japanese Kigurumi mascots.
With its big yellow rounded eyes, blue crest and FENDI Logo, the pink and sweet Piro-chan was inspired by the Qutweet charm, while Bug-kun, in his boyish attitude and blue fur, together with its yellow crest and double FF logo is inspired by the much-loved Bag Bugs charm.
"The Japanese pop culture and the Kigurumi-mania gave me the idea of having two FENDI mascots to attend our events, shows, openings… the FENDIRUMI, as they perfectly embody the FENDI Fun spirit," explains Silvia Venturini Fendi.
Since they were seen, seated at the front row of the FENDI Fall/Winter 2016/17 fashion show in Milan, earlier this year, the Fendirumi have been on a world tour, making appearances in cities like London, Hong Kong, New York and Los Angeles.
This November, they arrive in Singapore, and is set to feature at tourist destinations including the Merlion Park and Gardens by the Bay to view the garden city, as well as visit the National Museum to discover the colonial and Southeast Asian heritage.
The FENDIRUMI will appear at the FENDI store at Marina Bay Sands at:
- 24 November: 11:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm, 3:30pm, 4:30pm
- 25 to 27 November: 3pm, 4pm, 5pm, 6pm, 7pm, 8pm
