Back in 2016, Glashütte Original launched a three-hand watch it called the Senator Excellence housing its new high-performance automatic movement, the Caliber 36. In 2018, the German watchmaker has unleashed a new look for the two timepieces in the collection, with the Senator Excellence Panorama Date and Senator Excellence Panorama Date Moon Phase getting three new versions each.
In a departure from the classic presentation, these new timepieces are available in blue, silver grey and white dials, set within 42mm stainless steel cases.
A product of an elaborate galvanisation and finishing process performed in Glashütte Original's in-house dial manufactory in Pforzheim, the three new dials exemplify and underscore the Saxon watchmaker's reputation in producing outstanding watch faces.
The galvanic blue dial features a refined sunray decoration, the galvanic silver-grey dial is enhanced by a delicate vertically brushed finish and the smooth matte surface of the lacquered white dial version complete the impressive selection.
Striking white gold indexes and colour-matched, clear and dynamic sword-shaped hour and minute hands, complement the Panorama Date and Panorama Date Moon Phase respectively. The end result is a clean, contemporary, and stylish timepiece.
The innovation introduced by Glashütte Original, the Calibre 36 sits inside, allowing both date and the moon phase to be set using the crown, negating the need for an additional corrector on the case.
All Senator Excellence model bear a special engraving in the form of a "Q" on the case back, to be read as a promise from the brand to its owners. With an individual examination certificate, the Q guarantees the owner that his watch meets the highest standards with respect to stability, running time, precision and aesthetics, and that it has been thoroughly tested over the course of 24 days – under conditions even more demanding than those governing German chronometer certification testing.
The Senator Excellence Panorama Date retails in Singapore for S$15,900 while the Senator Excellence Panorama Date Moon Phase on alligator strap is S$17,900.
