A. Lange & Söhne announces a special exhibition to mark the 30th anniversary of the LANGE 1, one of the most distinctive timepieces in the world of fine watchmaking.
Titled “30 Years of the LANGE 1”, the exhibition will take place at ION Atrium in Singapore from 24 to 29 October, offering visitors an exclusive opportunity to explore the rich history of this timeless model and the brand’s dedication to precision and innovation.
The history of the LANGE 1
First introduced in 1994, the LANGE 1 was part of A. Lange & Söhne’s first collection after the revival of the Saxon brand, which had been dormant for over 40 years. The watch immediately set itself apart with its distinctive asymmetrical dial and outsize date display, a bold departure from conventional design at the time.
The LANGE 1 family has since become synonymous with the brand’s pursuit of horological excellence and has been a cornerstone of the A. Lange & Söhne collection for three decades.
“The LANGE 1 is more than just a watch – right down to the last detail, it symbolises our unwavering pursuit of precision, innovation, and timeless design. For 30 years, it has been the heart of our brand, continuously inspiring us to push the boundaries of horological excellence. We are honoured to celebrate this milestone in Singapore, a city with a strong community of connoisseurs who deeply appreciate the art of fine craftsmanship and design,” says Wilhelm Schmid, CEO of A. Lange & Söhne.

A showcase of craftsmanship
One of the highlights of the exhibition will be live demonstrations by a master engraver from the A. Lange & Söhne manufacture in Glashütte, Saxony. Guests will witness the rare art of hand engraving that goes into every timepiece, from the intricate detailing on the balance cocks to the decorative elements on case backs.
These demonstrations will offer visitors a glimpse into the meticulous craftsmanship that defines A. Lange & Söhne watches.
The engraving on the balance cock is the artisanal fingerprint that makes each Lange watch one-of-a-kind.
