Michael Kors Enters Long Term Partnership with McLaren-Honda F1

24 June 2016

By Scott Campbell

Michael Kors has announced its entry into the world of Formula One, and sounding the battlecry as it builds itself as a menswear lifestyle brand.

Teaming up as McLaren-Honda F1 team's official lifestyle partner, the American label will see its branding feature prominently on the drivers' overalls of former World Champions Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button, as well as well as the McLaren-Honda MP4-31 car, the latest iteration of the vehicle competing in the 2016 FIA Formula 1 World Championship.

A limited-edition men's leather jacket has been created to mark the occasion, and it features both the logos of Michael Kors and McLaren, along with a limited-edition plaque with each piece’s unique production number.

Only 50 of the garments will be fabricated, and the pieces will be sold exclusively at the new Michael Kors London flagship store on Regent Street.

Explaining the concept of the piece, Kors added, "There is an energy, sophistication and confidence to both of our brands, and we wanted to create a limited-edition piece that spoke to that."
