This September in Shanghai, Jaeger-LeCoultre opens the doors to The Dream Shaper, an immersive exhibition celebrating nearly two centuries of feminine horology. Set within the storied lanes of Zhangyuan, the Maison transforms its watchmaking heritage into a lyrical journey through artistry, innovation, and the evolving spirit of womanhood.
The exhibition unfolds across four evocative chapters. The Age of Tradition recalls the 19th century, when ornamented watches became dazzling jewels—pendants, brooches, and bracelets that whispered refinement and status.
The Age of Freedom embraces the dawn of independence, with miniaturised marvels like the Calibre 101, the world’s smallest mechanical movement, redefining elegance on the wrist. The Age of Emancipation highlights the sculptural audacity of shaped watches, where the Reverso emerged as a bold emblem of identity and self-assurance.
Finally, The Age of Leadership traces the arrival of complications once reserved for men, culminating in today’s celestial expressions such as the Rendez-Vous Shooting Star.
Visitors will encounter more than 70 archival masterpieces, alongside the global debut of limited-edition creations, each one an object of both precision and poetry. Jewellery watches sparkle with gem-setting artistry, while miniature enamel dials and high complications reveal the virtuosity of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Métiers Rares™. The Maison’s latest Made of Makers™ collaboration extends the dialogue between horology and art, presenting an entrancing installation that bridges craftsmanship and contemporary creativity.
Complementing the showcase are live demonstrations, a new Discovery Workshop by the Atelier d’Antoine, and The Collectibles—a curated selection of mid-20th-century icons available for purchase.
