Vacheron Constantin unveils ‘The Quest’ in Singapore — an immersive celebration of 270 years of horological excellence

To mark an extraordinary 270 years of uninterrupted craftsmanship, Vacheron Constantin unveils The Quest: 270 Years of Seeking Excellence, an immersive exhibition that traces the Maison’s enduring pursuit of perfection. Set to open at GROUNDSEESAW Singapore from 25 to 26 October 2025, the experience offers a rare journey through the Maison’s legacy — from its 18th-century origins to its present-day mastery of High Watchmaking.

The exhibition unfolds like a living timepiece, each chapter revealing another facet of Vacheron Constantin’s artistry. Visitors begin with The Beginning, where the Maison’s story first took shape in 1755, when founder Jean-Marc Vacheron signed a contract with his first apprentice — the moment that marked the birth of what would become the world’s oldest watch manufacture in continuous operation. Original documents, archival photographs, and historic pieces bring this chapter vividly to life.

In Artistic Crafts and Finishing, Vacheron Constantin pays tribute to the rare savoir-faire that continues to define its creations. Miniature painting, grisaille enamelling, gem-setting and guilloché artistry are celebrated as the living language of beauty — each technique embodying the patience, precision and poetry of time itself.

The journey deepens within High Watchmaking, where the complexity of horology takes center stage. Here, magnified displays reveal the heart of mechanical genius — intricate movements and rare complications that reflect centuries of innovation. Among the highlights: Les Cabinotiers – The Berkley Grand Complication, unveiled in 2024 and now regarded as the world’s most complex timepiece, with 2,877 components and 63 complications, including the first Chinese perpetual calendar.

The final chapter, The Quest, evokes the cosmic origins of time itself — a luminous meditation on mankind’s eternal fascination with the heavens. Against an awe-inspiring celestial backdrop, guests are invited to contemplate the infinite — from the stars that measure our days to the minuscule components that mark our moments.

The Quest is more than an exhibition; it is a sensorial voyage through artistry, innovation, and devotion — a tribute to the Maison’s timeless motto, engraved since 1819: “Do better if possible, and that is always possible.”
