Audi Fashion Festival (AFF) celebrates its 5th anniversary this year and for its 2013 edition, will move from Orchard Road where it has called home for the past four years, to Marina Promenade in Singapore.
At its new waterfront location, the organizers have unveiled plans for a new integrated fashion lifestyle concept, Fashion by the Bay, which will be divided into 3 zones where guests will be hosted – Indulge@AFF, Framed@AFF and Recharge@AFF .
The Tent@Marina Promenade where the fashion shows will be staged is also set to be 40% larger than AFF's previous capacity.
Tjin Lee, Festival Director, says, "To build buzz for our new destination, we have created a myriad of exciting lifestyle activities; much of it will be open to public. The key advantage in the move is to co-locate the festival with Blueprint Trade Show and Emporium, Asia Fashion Summit and the Audi Star Creation.
For the first time, all four events will be housed in the same vicinity, bringing together the trade and consumer pillars of the Asia Fashion Exchange.
Themed “Crafting the Future”, this year’s festival will feature 5 days of shows featuring emerging to established fashion labels, fringe events as well as after-parties headlined by international acts.
Opening the festival on 15 May will be The House of Herrara with founder Carolina Herrera making her first appearance in Asia alongside her daughter Carolina Herrera de Báez who is the Creative Director for fragrances and childrenwear for the label. The Fall/Winter 2013/2014 womenswear collection of Carolina Herrera New York and select womenswear, menswear and accessories of CH Carolina Herrera are set to be featured in the runway show.
British Designer of the Year for 1999 and 2000, Hussein Chalayan will close the festival on 19 May with his Fall/Winter 2013/2014 womenswear collection.
Amongst the runway highlights of the fashion week include RAOUL (Singapore), Tsumori Chisato (Japan), Singapore designer Ashley Isham (London), Zardozë (Singapore) as well as showcases from Parco Next NEXT featuring its new batch of fashion design incubator project designers, Audi Star Creation 2012 winners, and Future Fashion Now.
Supermodel Erin Heatherton who made her fame as one of Victoria's Secret angels, is also expected to open the show for RAOUL, Singapore’s very own home-grown label.
