World Cities Summit is a premier event that brings together practitioners and policy makers with leading experts in their field to identify innovative solutions to the most pressing challenges facing cities today. The inaugural summit in June 2008 brought together 800 senior delegates including leaders, mayors, policy makers and the civil society. To build on its success, the next Summit in 2010 will offer a strategic platform comprising a high-level summit, plenary sessions, networking forums and technical workshops.

The theme for the second Summit is Liveable and Sustainable Cities for the Future. World Cities Summit 2010 will be a three-day event focusing on leadership and governance and building liveable and sustainable communities. Through the exchange of ideas and knowledge, cities can learn from each other to create a good environment that is sustainable and forward-looking.

Programme
The conference will commence with high-level plenary sessions by world-renowned leaders, policy makers, visionaries, practitioners and futurists. They will deal with cross-cutting issues around the interplay of people, technologies and markets facing world cities today, with specific emphasis on the three broad themes of Leadership and Governance for Vibrant and Liveable Cities, Building Sustainable and Eco-friendly Cities and Fostering Harmonious and Sustainable Communities.

Complemented by expert panel discussions, delegates would be able to review today's achievements as well as explore tomorrow's possibilities.

The exhibition will feature four clusters:

• Singapore Government Pavilion that showcases initiatives and programmes by agencies involved in urban and development and related verticals.
• World Cities Pavilion that showcases model cities that adopt sustainable practices in urban development.
• Urban Solutions Pavilion, which consists of the Singapore Pavilion and the Commercial Companies Pavilion, featuring major integrated city solution providers and private companies involved in the value chain of urban planning.
• International Organisations and Strategic Partners.
