Magic Gold, the enhanced gold that is exclusive to Hublot has now graced the iconic Big Bang Unico model. Magic Gold is 18K gold and is patented, unalterable and scratchproof. Its hardness comes in at a rating of 1000 vickers, trumping traditional gold at 400 Vickers and Hardened steel at 600.
To create Magic Gold, liquid gold is injected into the cold-pressed boron carbide components at very high pressure, with the end result a completely unique material, composed of gold and ceramic, that can only be scratched by diamond.
