Rolex Testimonee Carlos Alcaraz wins first Wimbledon title

17 July 2023

Carlos Alacaraz, Rolex Testimonee, has won his first ever Wimbledon title, defeating Novak Djokovic over five sets 1-6, 7-6 (9-7), 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 at the hallowed Centre Court where the latter had not been defeated for over 10 years.

The 20 year old Spaniard wins his second Grand Slam, whist the 36 year old Serb was denied setting a new record of Grand Slam victories and remains at 23. Alcaraz, 20, was the youngest Wimbledon finalist since 2006 and the youngest World Number One ranked player as well. The last time Djokovic lost at Wimbledon, Alcaraz was only 10 years old.
