Huawei Mobile today in Munich, launched two of its flagship smartphone devices, the limited-edition Porsche Design Huawei Mate 9 and Huawei Mate 9. Utilizing the first-ever top-of-the-line Kirin 960 chipset, the Mate 9s run on Android 7.0 with a custom new User Interface (inspired by Santorini, Greece), have dual-lens Leica Camera technology with Optical Image Stabilisation & Hybrid Zoom, quick two-click access to snap photo-taking in 0.7s, directional audio recording with 4K video, with dual-sim and truly global connectivity (2G/3G/4G LTE Cat 12 w/CDMA). Supercharge the Mate 9 in 20 mins for 2 days usage - supersafe using 5 points of current-modulating/overheating safety countermeasures.
The superior processing power of its GPU and CPU means a quick loading of applications even after 18 months usage, managed by an intelligent machine-learning algorithm that figures out which apps are more (or less) commonly utilized by the user. Finally, the smartphone is secured via up-to-two fingerprints authentication mode (for an optional 2 layers of security).
At 6MM in thickness, the Mate 9 is smaller than the iPhone 7 Plus (5.5” at 158.2x77.9) but larger overall display (5.9” at 156.9x78.9) with 96% gamut, 1500:1 high contrast ratio. The Porsche Design Mate 9 with a 5.5” 2K curved display costs €1,359 (available at Porsche Design stores only) and the Mate 9 €599 (S$898). Available in SEA late November 2016.
