The Duke & Duchess were back in Manchester for a day of engagements yesterday.
First up, they attended the Children’s Global Media Summit at the Manchester Central Convention Complex, where they met with some of the international delegates due to speak at the conference.
The Summit brought together creatives, technology innovators, policymakers, executives and thought leaders from around the globe to inform and redesign the future of media for Generation U and explore the impact that digital technology will have in children’s futures.
Prince William attended a short private meeting related to the Cyber Bullying Taskforce and then delivered a key note speech at the summit on the future of children's media.
William has long been a passionate anti-bullying campaigner. For this year's Anti-Bullying Week, The Royal Foundation introduced an initiative ‘Stop, Speak, Support’, with the aim of reaching every 11-16 year old in Britain, to empower them to stop cyberbullying, by speaking out and seeking support.
The UK has become the first country in the world to launch a national, youth-led, code of conduct for the internet.
Meanwhile, The Duchess joined a private forum hosted by Sesame Street's Workshop, the charitable foundation of the children's TV show, on research commissioned into children's emotional-wellbeing. Sesame Workshop’s mission is to help kids grow smarter, stronger, and kinder. Their programs deliver crucial lessons about health, emotional well-being, and respect and understanding to help kids grow up healthy, happy, and at home in their world.
William and Kate also got to speak to school children taking part in the "stepping out" focus group, where they can give editorial staff and content producers from children's television their views on new programmes.
The Duchess wore a new ensemble from two of her favourite labels for today's visit to Manchester.
Kate opted for LK Bennett's 'Delli Check Coat', available for £495 on the UK website but sold out on the US website, originally $725.
It is described: "The Delli coat is a smart essential, cut from a fine houndstooth weave in virgin wool. Uncluttered by design, it has a crew neckline, concealed button-down front and military flap pockets. Its flared skirt, falling to the mid calf, looks great with knee high boots underneath."
Proving to be her favourite label this pregnancy, Kate wore another piece by Goat today. This is the berry-coloured 'Elodie Tunic Dress', not unlike the plum-coloured 'Eloise Tunic Dress' that Kate wore to an engagement last month. It is available for £450/$600 in sizes 12-18.
It comes in Berry, Marine, and Persian Green and is described: "Feminine and flattering the Elodie dress in vibrant red has been intricately crafted to offer a chic and stylish fit. A tunic dress with exquisite pleat detail on the sleeves and a gathered funnel collar." This is Kate's fourth Goat outfit this pregnancy; to view the previous three looks.
Kate brought back her Tod's black suede pumps with a block heel today. They were £345/$460 and now sold out.
Kate's black gloves she was seen wearing when arriving are the Cornelia James 'Imogen Merino Wool Gloves' that she has worn on many occasions. They are available for £70/$92.
For jewellery, The Duchess wore her Mappin & Webb 'Empress 18ct White Gold Diamond Drop Earrings', available for £1,500/$2,000.
I personally really love Goat dresses and coats on Kate! I think the label fits perfectly with her chic and classic style.
