The story of 1969 remains a defining chapter for Zenith. This pivotal year saw the launch of the DEFY line, a collection celebrated for its bold geometry and uncompromising resilience. Known by the nicknames the bolt or the bank vault, these original models introduced a design vocabulary of sharp lines and architectural presence.
For LVMH Watch Week 2026, the manufacture continues this legacy by reintroducing a key design from its archives. The DEFY Revival A3643 emerges as a faithful tribute to the past, distinguished by a refined silver-toned dial that captures historical elegance. This release follows the successful reintroduction of earlier references, further solidifying the collection's enduring influence.
The rugged 37mm steel case utilizes the re-engineered construction seen in recent revival editions. To ensure absolute accuracy, Zenith utilized a high-precision scan of the vintage original to recreate the dial structure. The applied hour markers feature a sophisticated two-tier profile, where satin-brushed planes sit above black-lacquered recesses to create a striking sense of depth.
Modern updates enhance the classic silhouette without compromising its soul. While the original featured a solid back, the new model includes a sapphire display back. This window reveals the automatic Elite 670 movement, complete with an openworked Zenith star rotor. The watch also features a seconds hand accented by a vivid orange rectangular segment for a touch of dynamism.
Completing the period-correct look is the iconic ladder bracelet. This specific bracelet design was originally created exclusively for Zenith in 1969. The DEFY Revival A3643 is now available through the brand's physical and online boutiques as well as authorized retailers.
