Royal tour of Sweden & Norway 4
By Alexandrina Kentska | 2 February 2018

For The Duke and Duchess' last night in Stockholm, they are attending an event at the Fotografiska Gallery, which at night boasts glittering views over the city.

The event is a celebration of contemporary culture with guests representing the worlds of music, film, television, theatre, tech, dance, art and sport, with live music, drinks and canapés.

Fotografiska (The Swedish Museum of Photography) is a centre for contemporary photography which opened in 2010 and has since exhibited the work of renowned photographers such as Annie Leibovitz, Joel-Peter Witkin, Anders Petersen, Sarah Moon and Christer Strömholm, to name a few. No doubt Kate would have been eagerly anticipating this visit, being a keen photographer herself.

William and Kate had a short tour of the gallery's latest exhibition by UK photographer Nick Veasey, before joining the reception.

Nick revealed that William told him Kate takes photos of their children everyday.

At the reception, William gave a speech and spoke of how he and Kate have enjoyed their time in the country. “It has been a great pleasure to be in Stockholm these last two days,” he says. “Sweden is a country that holds a very special place in the heart of my family, and for all British people. And it has been a joy to see that our very high expectations for this beautiful city have been fully met.”

Once again, they attended the event with Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, who have served as their hosts for their two-day stay in Sweden. William is actually Victoria's fourth cousins once removed through Queen Victoria.

Addressing the Swedish royals, William said, "Thank you for making us feel so welcome. We very much hope we will have the opportunity to repay your generosity in the United Kingdom soon.”

William concluded with, ”Above all, tonight is a celebration of friendship," which has been the tour's theme as William and Kate serve as unofficial Brexit ambassadors, attempting to strengthen ties with European counties.

A look at The Duchess's two Erdem outfits from the past two nights. She wore the two colours featured on the Swedish flag: gold and blue.

The Duchess opted for an elaborately patterned velvet number from Erdem once again for last night's reception at the Fotografiska Gallery in Stockholm.

Kate picked the 'Christina Devore Velvet Midi Dress' which is part of the designer's A/W 17 runway collection. It features a mock neckline, banded waist, A-line silhouette, large fluted sleeves and a flounced hem.

Canadian-Turkish founder Erdem Moralioglu is "Known for his use of experimental textiles, vibrant prints, and detailed craftsmanship. Erdem has created a beautiful world of the delicate mixed with the bold."

Kate's black coat is by Ida Sjöstedt, a very popular Swedish label worn frequently by the Swedish princesses.

She paired the coat with the black faux fur Troy London collar (£65/$90) and cuffs (£40/$56) she wore with her green Catherine Walker coat yesterday.

For shoes, The Duchess wore her Gianvito Rossi d'Orsay ankle-strap heels that sold for £265 but are now unavailable.

As for jewellery, Kate had on some new earrings from Robinson Pelham. These are the 18ct white gold 'Aspen' earrings and retail for £4,900/$7,000. They are now out of stock.

For Tuesday's reception, Kate also chose an Erdem dress: the silk-crepe de Chine 'Stephanie' gown, from the AW17 collection.

A bit of background on the dress: "Erdem envisions 1940s silhouettes with floral patterns – in this case, passion flowers – lifted from traditional Japanese screens for Resort 2018, and this silk crepe de Chine Stephanie dress is the result."

Kate paired the dress with a new Jimmy Choo clutch and her matching Gianvito Rossi 105 suede burgundy pumps.

For jewellery, The Duchess wore Diana's Collingwood pearl earrings and pearl bracelet that we have seen her wear previously.

So, what Erdem dress out of the two is your favourite? It's the blue velvet one for me.

See you tomorrow when The Duke & Duchess will be in Norway!
