A Celebration of the Commonwealth at Westminster Abbey
By Alexandrina Kentska | 13 March 2018

Today, the Royal Family attended The Commonwealth Service: A Celebration of the Commonwealth at Westminster Abbey. The Day is a reminder of the bonds between Britain and its closest allies — the 53 member nations of the Commonwealth.

Below is The Queen's Commonwealth Day Message for 2018:

"We all have reason to give thanks for the numerous ways in which our lives are enriched when we learn from others. Through exchanging ideas, and seeing life from other perspectives, we grow in understanding and work more collaboratively towards a common future. There is a very special value in the insights we gain through the Commonwealth connection; shared inheritances help us overcome difference so that diversity is a cause for celebration rather than division.

We shall see this in action at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting which takes place in the United Kingdom next month, bringing together young people, business, and civil society from across the Commonwealth.

These gatherings are themselves fine examples of how consensus and commitment can help to create a future that is fairer, more secure, more prosperous, and sustainable. Having enjoyed the warm hospitality of so many Commonwealth countries over the years, I look forward to the pleasure of welcoming the leaders of our family of 53 nations to my homes in London and Windsor.

Sport also contributes to building peace and development. The excitement and positive potential of friendly rivalry will be on display next month as we enjoy the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast, Australia. Contributing to the success of the Games, alongside athletes and officials, will be thousands of volunteers.

Voluntary effort, by people working as individuals, in groups or through larger associations, is so often what shapes the Commonwealth and all our communities. By pledging to serve the common good in new ways, we can ensure that the Commonwealth continues to grow in scope and stature, to have an even greater impact on people’s lives, today, and for future generations."

The Duchess looked stunning in a repeated outfit for today's Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey.

Kate's navy Beulah London 'Chiara' coat was worn to a service of commemoration back in 2015 when pregnant with Charlotte. It has become one of her most popular outfits.

The 100% wool coat features the classic fit-and-flare silhouette and retailed for £650.

I recently did a post about all of the items Kate owns from Beulah London, and the brand's mission to help women who have been victims of human trafficking.

Kate's hat is another repeat. This is her quaint Lock & Co 'Tiffany Drop-Brim Hat' which is available in navy and black for £325.

It is described: "Crafted from 100% rabbit fur felt, this 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' hat is a style saviour. The stunning, lipped drop-brim and wide Petersham band make this hat a real classic which is perfect for dressier social engagements."

Kate's new clutch is by Jimmy Choo. It is the 'Celeste S' navy suede clutch with the iconic metal cube clasp and is available for €725 in black, blue and burgundy. Kate also owns the clutch in burgundy and nude.

For shoes, The Duchess went with her Rupert Sanderson 'Malory' navy suede pumps. While the navy is no longer in stock, the 'Malory' pumps are available in numerous other colours for £475.

Kate debuted some new jewellery today. She wore a new brooch (featuring three flowers) and some earrings which also appear to be in a floral design. .

For those interested in Meghan's outfit, she is wearing an Amanda Wakeley coat and dress, a Stephen Jones hat, Manolo Blahnik pumps and a Mulberry clutch.
