Nestled in the lush greenery of Tanglin area in Singapore, Wing Tai Asia and Metro have jointly developed and launched The Crest, a new luxury condominium residences spanning a sprawling 256,026 sqft.
With spectacular views and an unobstructed vantage point over low-rise "Good Class Bungalows" (GCB) of the Chatsworth and Bishopsgate estates extending all the way to Orchard Road, The Crest is located at Prince Charles Crescent.
All 469 units have just received their government-authorised approval for T.O.P. (temporary occupation permit) and are ready for residents to move-in.
Designed by Pritzker Prize Winner Toyo Ito
The crown jewel in the developer’s recent portfolio of properties, The Crest is designed by Pritzker Architecture Prize Laureate Toyo Ito.
In 2013, the Japanese architect received what is arguably the industry's highest accolade (the 'Nobel Prize of Architecture') honoured for his more than four-decade long career, during which he has created architecture that "projects an air of optimism, lightness and joy... infused with both a sense of uniqueness and universality."
On his award, Ito explained that "air and wind and water," are the forces that drove him aesthetically. "These metaphors that I find in nature, that's always the inspiration for my architecture," he adds.
It is this same philosophy, the fluidity between nature and humanity, that was applied to the design of The Crest.
The Peak of Luxurious Living
Situated next to the Alexandra Linear Park Connector & Canal, three tall towers rising 23 storeys, are paired with four 5-storeys high island villas.
Defining the architectural landscape is a central art lagoon complete with lap, children and leisure pools surrounded by bio-ponds.
The end result is an open, expansive oasis of beauty, harmony and serenity.
Residents can also dine by the water at the Grill and Dine terrace. Set amidst groves of Willow and blazing Yellow Flame of the Forest trees, the intimate enclave offers an idyllic escape from the bustle of the city that is but a stone’s throw away — Redhill MRT Station is 5-minute walk away, while Orchard Road and Marina Bay are each a 5-minute drive away.
On the roof of one of the towers, The Crest Club offers alfresco dining, a gym as well as a theatrette/ entertainment room. On each of the other two towers, a Sky Sanctuary is a quite literally a garden amongst the clouds, suitable for moments of contemplative relaxation.
Strategic alignment of the buildings to facilitate wind tunnels, and sky planters lining the sides of each residential structure help to promote passive cooling and complement the lush landscaping and water features below. All-in-all combining to provide a bright and airy living environment.
Unique Loft Units Available
A range of 1-to-5 bedroom configurations are available.
Laid out over floor plates that are fractal in plan rather than a simple rectilinear box, rooms of different units are able to capture light and wind from multiple directions, as well as a variety of window views (see above).
89 of these units starting from 3-bedroom at 1,184 sqft to 5-bedroom at 2,002 sqft, have unique loft spaces to allow families to explore a new world of possibilities.
With 6.3 metre high ceilings, double volume spaces and floor-to-ceiling windows, the unique flexibility of the upper deck can be customized to adapt to every lifestyle.
Ideas include a workout zone, home office, home library, wine bar or a hobby area, just to name a few possible design inspirations from the fully-furnished show units.
An exceptional development with timeless design, The Crest bears the signature of Toyo Ito with the intimacy of architecture and nature, and without a doubt, a luxurious home to celebrate many of life's peaks.
