'The Knot: A Retrospective' Exhibition by Bottega Veneta in Singapore

21 July 2015

On the occasion of the opening of Bottega Veneta's new expanded boutique in Singapore's Takashimaya Department Store, the Italian luxury label will be showcasing 'The Knot: A Retrospective' as a celebration of unquestionably one of its most renowned and iconic bags.

The new retail space measuring 130 square meters is set to offer a wider selection of the products for men and women including handbags, accessories, shoes, luggage, fragrances and jewelry.

From 31 July to 2 August, the store will host the traveling exhibition and display over 100 Knots from archival to more recent seasons.

The Knot is one of Bottega Veneta's most recognizable and beloved handbags.

When Tomas Maier took the reins as Creative Director in 2001, he recognized the special quality of the company's small, rounded box clutch. He created a new closure in the shape of a small leather knot and gave the bag its name.

Since then, versions of the Knot have been featured in every Bottega Veneta collection.

Modern interpretations have ranged from the refined to the fanciful, including models in woven sterling silver or embroidered with antique crystals.

'The Knot: A Retrospective' will be unveiled during an exclusive event on 30 July, before opening to the public the day after.
