Hello, Shibuya Tokyo Fashion and Culture Mix Show with Singapore, a fashion and cultural event featuring a mix of both Japanese and local artistry, takes place over 17 days from 22 Feb to 10 March, at the Atrium Space in Plaza Singapura.
Fashion and art aficionados can immerse themselves in this subculture directly imported from the cool streets of Shibuya, Tokyo.
As one of Asia’s most vibrant places, Shibuya’s uniqueness stems from the diverse cultures and styles that coexist in Tokyo. With Singapore’s major role as an ASEAN hub, Japanese designers are looking increasingly to Singapore as a market to launch their careers.
The event is based on three themes: incubation, local cooperation, and contributions to Shibuya with an inbound focus and will include more than 20 pop-up shops, art exhibitions, fashion shows, and B2B business meetings. Hello, Shibuya Tokyo aims to be a platform for both designers from Shibuya and Singapore to further hone their craft.
Aside from the festivities, collaborations between Japanese and local talents like PHUNK and max.tan will see the creation of original dresses, t-shirts, tote bags and mobile phone stickers, all for sale at the pop-up shops.
Hello, Shibuya Tokyo is organised by PARCO Japan, but is commissioned by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry as part of their 2012 Cool Japan Strategy Promotion Program. It is also supported by The Embassy of Japan in Singapore, Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), JETRO, JFW, The Small and Medium Enterprise Agency, SPRING Singapore and the Textile and Fashion Federation.
