PARIS An annual festival in celebration of chocolate, Le Salon Du Chocolat,  is a dream come true for chocoholic. This year, it is held at the large convention centre beneath the Louvre.

There are tastings and chefs demonstrations at a huge variety of international chocolatiers stands; opportunities to sample and buy goodies such as truffles, chocolate-dipped fruit kebabs, hot chocolate and cakes; as well as chocolate fashion, sculpture and art. 

Exhibitions include the history of chocolate, books on chocolate and desserts, and an antique collection of 'teapots' used exclusively for hot chocolate. A Chocoland for children entertains with chocolate makeup and other delicious activities.

The theme for le Salon du Chocolat this year is Opera.

The event kicked off on October 13 with a chocolate themed fashion show with designs from fashion designers and chocolatiers. Donning the costumes were models, actresses, television personalities and opera singers, putting on a fun-filled show celebrating the love for chocolates.

The event, which runs from October 14 to 18, will feature the latest innovations from chocolatiers around the world, and will include cooking demonstrations, a cocoa show dedicated to the cultures and countries that produce cocoa, tasting sessions and even an awards show.
