At the 2012 edition of the Asian Digital Media Conference organized by the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) attended by more than 350 executives in the Asian publishing industry, the highlight of the 3-day affair was the presentation ceremony of the now annual Asian Digital Media Awards (ADMA).
Recognizing excellence in the digital media space, which has since evolved from an emerging distribution and engagement platform to now an integral component of every publisher worldwide, the ADMAs serve as a widely respected and coveted measure of achievement and progress for websites across Asia Pacific and Middle East.
For the 2012 edition, SENATUS won the Silver Award in the Best in Online Media (Magazine) category, with the following key achievements:
- Best from Singapore
- Best in English magazines
- Best in the Luxury segment
- Best pure-play Online Publisher
"For us to once again be recognized as one of the top online magazines in Asia is truly humbling. When we first won the inaugural Gold Award in 2010, we set ourselves the target of improving our product offering and editorial quality all around - this is the result of two years of hard work," said Kien Lee, Managing Director of SENATUS.
To be able to stand head and shoulders with the largest publishing houses in Asia, many of whom have devoted significant resources to growing their digital presence over the past few years, reinforces my belief that we are doing something right!"continues Kien.
We will continue to helm the lead as Asia's Premier Luxury and Lifestyle Magazine.
"The Asian Digital Media Awards once again confirms that the region is a laboratory for innovation for digital news media," said Mr Thomas Jacob, chief operating officer of Wan-Ifra and managing director of Wan-Ifra Asia Pacific.
He added: "The winning projects demonstrate the many ways in which publishers are seizing the opportunities and responding to the changes in how people consume news and information."
2012 has been a great year for SENATUS, having also recently amassed more than 500,000 fans on Facebook (FB), the largest social media presence for a publication in all of Asia. Both the Silver award at the ADMAs and the FB fans are proud badges bestowed upon by industry peers and readers alike.
A Look into the Future of Online Magazines
For 2013 and beyond, SENATUS has unveiled a sneak preview where we have incorporated an integral social networking component to our magazine, making our editorial content "come alive".
Members are able to engage with each other, using our content, interest groups and travel guides as conversation starters, interact with our team of editors, writers and photographers, and participate in discussions pulling in multi-media visual aids from across the Internet to create an all-encompassing experience.
