Indian driver Karun Chandhok will be the first Formula One driver to try out the new Yeongam racing track in South Korea after agreeing to a test drive in September.
The HRT Racing driver will steer a Red Bull car around the inaugural circuit on Sept. 4. The Asian race is scheduled for Oct. 24.
Chandhok competed in the season's first 10 Grand Prix races for Spanish team HRT before being replaced by Japanese driver Sakon Yamamoto for the past two and this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix. Chandhok says he "was happy to fill in."
The announcement is the first sign that the Korean track will be ready to host an F1 race, which is subject to installations being completed.
